At Bowhayes Farm, we’re lucky to be surrounded by spectacular countryside, coast, and community – and summer is the perfect time to get out and explore it all. Whether you're glamping in our shepherd’s hut or camping beneath the stars, there's a fantastic mix of free outdoor events for nature lovers, families, and curious minds – all within a short drive.

11th July | Starts 9:15pmJoin local wildlife experts for an atmospheric evening walk along the River Otter, listening for bat calls and spotting them swoop through the dusk skies. A fascinating way to learn about these mysterious night flyers in a peaceful riverside setting.

🦀 Rock Stars – Rockpooling at Seaton Hole
27th July | Starts 2:00pm – now full (waiting list available)Dip your toes into the world of rockpooling with a hands-on family session exploring the fascinating marine life of Seaton Hole. From hermit crabs to anemones, you’ll never see the coast the same way again.

🦋 All a Flutter – Butterfly Walk at Aylesbeare Common

💧 The Big Dip – Family Stream Dipping at Manor Farm, Branscombe
17th August | Sessions at 2:00pm and 3:00pmGrab a net and delve into the freshwater world of local streams. This is a brilliant hands-on activity for kids (and grown-ups!) keen to discover what’s wriggling below the surface. Expect nymphs, beetles, and maybe even a fish or two!
